The Maker Stories - SCHMELTER BRAND DESIGN GmbH

A brand shows face.

Makers’ minds cannot be tamed! The Makers are at the heart of all communication. As brand ambassadors, they embody the spirit of the Makers Line: unconventional, courageous and creative.

The personalities: authentic & real

Going your own way, finding your style, doing your thing: That takes courage. And no one could convey this more honestly than those who fearlessly defy common conventions. Young creatives from all over the world tell their own personal stories as Makers – what inspires them, what difficulties they struggle with, what encourages them. In this way, their stories encourage others to express themselves creatively as well. Perfection is not the goal, but authenticity away from the mainstream.

The stories: personal & emotional

The stories: personal & emotional

Painting as a way out of burnout. Bright illustrations to process bullying experiences. Delicate drawings to encourage others: Behind each Maker is a story. In it, the young people tell why they express themselves creatively – what drives, moves or inspires them in the process. In interviews, they share their story with the Makers Line community. This creates a sense of openness, trust and connection.

The videos: entertaining & likeable

The story told in the interview is then put into video form. In short clips, the Makers tell their own story: they provide insight into their everyday lives, their environment and, of course, their creative work. The videos are as different and unique as the people themselves. A common look becomes the connecting visual bracket and maintains the series character.

Social media: close & direkt

Social networks are the linchpin of Makers Line’s brand communication. That’s why the communication tools are also 100 percent aligned with it. The crisp social media teasers point out when there is a new Makers story on the website – to like, comment and share.

The image world: aesthetic & individual

Accompanying the video shoot, a photo series is shot for each Maker. The reportage-like images reflect the personality of the respective creator: natural and real. The resulting pool of images is later used for various purposes, e.g. to illustrate the story on the website or in the product catalog.

The dialogue: online & live

There is a lively exchange within the Makers Line community via the social networks – this is often where the first contact with future makers is made. The brand ambassadors always remain close, for example at live events such as trade fairs. There, the creative talents show live how they work with the Makers Line tools and are open for personal dialogue.
